There are all the bases for comprehensive development of relations between Azerbaijan and New Zealand in the political, economic and cultural spheres.
Governor-General of New Zealand Sir Jeremiah Mateparae made the remark, receiving credentials from Azerbaijani ambassador Rovshan Jamshidov, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry reported on August 26.
Azerbaijan's appointment of its ambassador to New Zealand, will no doubt, contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation, Mateparae said.
He said Azerbaijan's experience as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council is of interest for New Zealand. He also noted the importance of cooperation between the two countries within the UN.
Jamshidov, in turn, noted he would make all the effort to promote cooperation between the two countries.
The ambassador informed the governor-general about the large regional projects ongoing in Azerbaijan.
Jamshidov, is the first Azerbaijani ambassador to Australia, with the residence in Canberra, Fiji and New Zealand.
