Resident of the Sehleabad village of Azerbaijani Tartar region Mubariz Aliyev was shot dead by Armenian militaries.

26 year-old Aliyev was murdered as a result of shelling by the Armenian side while he was fishing in Tartar River in the Ashagi Chayli village on July 19, the Interior Ministry reported.

The report noted that Aliyev's body has already been handed over to his family.

The situation on the contact line between Azerbaijan and Armenia has remained tense as the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire a total of 15 times throughout the day, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry said.

The ceasefire was violated in Gizilhajili village of Gazakh region, nameless hills of Bash Garvand, Shikhlar and Shuraabad villages of Aghdam region on July 20 and on the night of July 21.

The Armenians were silenced with a retail fire, the ministry said.

Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that caused a brutal war in the early 1990s.

The UN Security Council's four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal have not been enforced to this day.

Peace talks, mediated by Russia, France and the US and the OSCE Minsk Group are underway on the basis of a peaceful outline -called Madrid Principle -proposed by the Minsk Group co-chairs. The negotiations have been largely fruitless so far.
