Baku awaiting proposals from mediators
Baku is awaiting proposals from the OSCE mediators brokering a settlement to the Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict regarding a meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told journalists.
He recalled that at the latest meeting with the US, Russian and French Minsk Group co-chairs in August, a decision was passed to schedule the next ministerial meeting. However, no proposals on the venue or timing of the meeting have yet been received.
Mammadyarov said his country remains committed to continuing talks, both with Armenia and the co-chairs.
The two ministers last met at the Russian Foreign Minister`s residence on August 1. Discussions centered on the Madrid principles for the peace process, which were submitted to the sides late in 2007, as well as those agreements reached by the two countries` presidents at their meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia in June.
