Armenian armed forces violate ceasefire in several directions 20 times

The ceasefire on the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line was broken from different directions 20 times over the past day, the Azerbaijani defense ministry reported on July 1.

Armenian armed forces located in the village of Paravkar of Armenia's Ijevan region opened fire at Azerbaijani soldiers located in the village of Kohnegishlag in the Agstafa region last night. Furthemore, Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the village of Kokhanabi of the Tovuz region took fire from the Armenian positions located at the nameless heights of the Berd region.

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces located in the nameless heights in the Kemerli village of the Gazakh region were fired upon from the positions in the nameless heights and in the Doveh village of Armenia's Noyemberyan region.

Furthermore, the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces took fire from positions near the villages of Marz, Shihlar, Shuraabad, Dzhavahirli villages of the Agdam region, Ashagi Veysalli of the Fizuli region, Chayli village of the Terter region and the nameless heights in the territories of Khojavand and Goygol regions.

The Armenian side was silenced with return fire.

Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that caused a brutal war in the early 1990s.

As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, over 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed, 4,866 are reported missing and almost 100,000 were injured, and 50,000 were disabled.

The UN Security Council has passed four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
