Azerbaijan, Pakistan keen on deepening cooperation

Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Minister, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov received a Pakistani delegation led by Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Muhammad Saeed Aleem on June 5.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 7th International Conference on Disaster Risk Management in Gabala, AzerTag state news agency reported.

Heydarov noted that Islamabad had always supported Azerbaijan`s fair position within all international organizations in the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The minister said there were wide prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries` relevant authorities in the field of prevention and elimination of consequences of emergency situations.

He said that Pakistani youth have the opportunity to study at the ministry's academy.

He also noted that the NDMA was keen on cooperation with their Azerbaijani counterparts.
