"Shirvan National Park" was screened at the Nizami Cinema Center on May 14.

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Leyla Aliyeva attended the presentation ceremony.

The film is produced as part of the "8 Mysteries of Azerbaijan" project, started by the International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA).

Prior to the screening of the film, the Baku Office of the World Wide Fund for Nature was offered 20 surveillance cameras by IDEA.

Aliyeva said the cameras were donated to the Fund under a project for preserving leopards in Azerbaijan.

The cameras would be used for determining the settlement locations and number of leopards in the country, she said.

Aliyeva then viewed gazelle models made as part of the International Maiden Tower Festival and photos taken by "Shirvan National Park" director Igor Bishnyov during the shootings.

The film and a promotional video called "Aggol National Park" were demonstrated afterwards.

Bishnyov noted that "Shirvan National Par" was the first movie produced as part of an IDEA-initiated project, and thanked IDEA head Leyla Aliyeva.

He said Azerbaijan was the leader in the post-Soviet region in the number of preserves.

Films about Aggol, Zangazur, Altiagaj, Hirkan, Absheron, Shahdag, and Goygol national parks are also planned to be produced, he added.
