AJW Aviation to provide AZAL with spares
By Nazrin Gadimova
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has signed a new power-by-the-hour pool access agreement with AJW Aviation, the leading independent complete aircraft spares support specialist.
This five-year agreement will cover two A340-500 aircraft, allowing AZAL access to AJW's extensive inventory of A340 components.
Signing of such an agreement sees an extension of the already successful relationship between the two companies. Thus, AJW handled the re-branding of the entire AZAL fleet in July 2013.
Moreover, in partnership with the "British Airways Engineering" AJW will provide maintenance services of "Boeing 787" aircraft, which is expected to be received by AZAL in 2014.
"We are delighted to be continuing our long standing relationship with Azerbaijan Airlines" AJW Group's Chief Technical Officer Deepak Sharma said.
"Their ongoing support with AJW is testament to AJW's expertise and commitment to delivering outstanding value for money and excellent customer service. AJW serves a global customer base of around 1,000 airlines with nearly 500 aircraft under contract, and is fast becoming the partner of choice to offer fully integrated support solutions to airline and MRO organizations seeking competitive advantage."
Being the biggest Azerbaijani airline and national flag carrier, and a regional and CIS leader in the number of new aircrafts, AZAL offers its passenger flights to European countries, the CIS, Middle East, and Asia. After purchasing new Boeing aircrafts for long-haul flights in 2014, the airline plans to open regular flights to several destinations in North America and Southeast Asia.
The company cooperates with about 60 airlines to provide its passengers with an opportunity to travel freely around the world.
