AIDA, Sudan’s embassy eye prospects for co-op

Director of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) Ashraf Shikhaliyev met Sudaniese Ambassador to Baku Mohamed Elias Mohamed al-Haq to discuss the bilateral cooperation on May 8.

Shikhaliyev briefed the ambassador on the programmes implemented by AIDA in educational, capacity building and healthcare fields, AzerTag state news agency reported.

The meeting also saw discussions on the prospects for the bilateral cooperation between AIDA and the embassy.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Sudan were established February 16, 1993.

AIDA, established under the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry in September 2011, is a responsible organ for provision of international humanitarian and development assistance by Azerbaijan and coordinates activities of relevant state agencies in this field.

AIDA's annual budget is formed by relevant allocations from the state budget. Its activities are structured in line and concurrent with the foreign policy of Azerbaijan.
