The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry denied recent media information saying that no soldiers of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were injured as a result of a ceasefire violation by Armenia in the direction of the Tovuz region.

The ministry said the information disseminated in this regard contradicts the reality.

The ministry further said subunits of the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire with Azerbaijan in Kohnagishlag village of Aghstafa region, Alibayli village of Tovuz region, Garakhanbayli and Ashagi Seyidahmadli villages of Fuzuli region, Sarijali village of Aghdam region, Tap Garagoyunlu village of Goranboy region, as well as nameless hills of Dashkasan, Goygol and Khojavend regions on the night of March 27-28.

The Armenians were silenced with a retail fire.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the U.S. are currently holding peace negotiations.

The UN Security Council's four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal have not been enforced to this day.

Peace talks, mediated by Russia, France and the US and the OSCE Minsk Group are underway on the basis of a peaceful outline -called Madrid Principle -proposed by the Minsk Group co-chairs. The negotiations have been largely fruitless so far.
