Azerbaijani Federation of Football Associations (AFFA) objected to the coaching courses held by Armenian Football Federation's organization in the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

Being in Astana at the UEFA Congress, AFFA Secretary General Elkhan Mammadov informed the representatives of the European Football Union about this issue, expressing concern over the fact that the Football Federation of Armenia is conducting coaching courses in the territory of Azerbaijan.

Mammadov also expressed AFFA's concern during a meeting with Secretary General of Armenia's Federation, who, in turn, said the courses do not have international status, and noted that AFFA's protest will be considered.

AFFA joined UEFA Coaching Convention on the courses of category "A" and "B" in 2008, joining the convention PRO two years later. Under the requirements of the Convention, the right to organize coaching courses PRO "C", "B", and "A" in the territory of Azerbaijan belongs only to AFFA.

Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. Armenia constantly violates a ceasefire agreement signed with Azerbaijan in 1994 and refuses to implement the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
