Richard Morningstar meets Trend agency staff
U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar visited the Trend Agency's office on February 20.
During the visit, the diplomat had an interview with Trend, during which he spoke about the prospects of Azerbaijan- U.S. cooperation, the key role of Azerbaijan in Europe's energy security, Azerbaijan's participation in peacekeeping missions, the possibility of Iran's participation in regional energy projects, and other issues.
Afterwards the U.S. ambassador met with the staff of Trend's English news service and English speaking employees of other services.
Morningstar praised the agency's work as a leading player in the region's information space and the professionalism of Trend's journalists.
"Trend does a good job among other press here. Trend is very professional," the ambassador stressed.
Founded in 1995 as a private media outlet in Azerbaijan, Trend Agency is a leading news provider in the Caucasus, Caspian and Central Asian region. Trend has established the Trend Expert Council, bringing together about 40 well-known independent experts from the region and the West.
