Italy keen on deepening ties with Azerbaijan
Italy has said it is determined to boost relations with Azerbaijan during its upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union, AzerTag state news agency reported.
The report outlining Italy's foreign policy priorities for its six-month presidency of the Council, reads that one of the main tasks is to contribute to ensuring energy security and deepen relations with the countries rich with oil and gas resources
"Building dialogue with those states which play a significant role in supplying Europe with natural gas is important," the report reads.
Italy's presidency of the Council of the European Union starts on 1 July, 2014.
