Azerbaijan preparing action plan for chairmanship in CE Committee of Ministers
By Jamila Babayeva
Azerbaijan is preparing an action plan for its forthcoming chairmanship of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers, beginning in May 2014.
"The constructive work with CE is underway," the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov told journalists on January 20. "The action plan and other documents will be adopted before Azerbaijan's chairmanship,"
This will contribute to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the CE, he stressed.
Seyidov noted that no issue related to Azerbaijan will be discussed at PACE winter session.
"We attach great importance to all sessions as Azerbaijan will take chairmanship at the CE Committee of Ministers from May to November 2014. We also pay significance to January session, which will elect the PACE chairman," MP Seyidov noted.
Azerbaijan became a member state of the Council of Europe on January 25, 2001.
