Romanian capital Bucharest hosted a conference titled "Azerbaijan - Model of Successful Development" on November 21.

Addressing the event, Principal of the Romanian-American University Ovidiu Folcut thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, especially President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, for their attention to the university.

He provided an insight into the activities of the Azerbaijan Researches Centre operating at the university, and urged the students to be more active in cooperating with the center.

Head of the Romanian representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Igbal Hajiyev informed the event participants about Azerbaijan's history, culture, and economic development.

Speaking about the outstanding contributions of national leader Heydar Aliyev, Hajiyev briefed the conference participants on the activities of the Romanian representation of the Foundation.

Other speakers of the event included chairman of the Bucharest Writers Association Horia Girbea, adviser of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Romania Irfan Davudov, CEO of the SOCAR`s Romania Brunch Hamza Karimov, and PhD Professor and vice-rector of the Romanian American University Florin Bonciu.

Held with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation at the Romanian-American University, the event was attended by the university's leadership, teaching staff and students, representatives of Azerbaijani Embassy, the representation of Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR in Romania, members of the Azerbaijan-Romanian Youth and Cultural Association, the Azerbaijan-Romania Bilateral Chamber of Commerce, the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, as well as members of the Azerbaijani and Turk-Tatar communities.
