Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva visited the Special Boarding School No.11 in Baku on October 29.

799 pupils, including 127 children with limited health conditions, are educated at the school in the Sabunchu district of capital Baku. 597 children from low-income families are also educated at the school.

108 of the schoolchildren, who study at this special boarding school, live there during the school year.

The school was repaired in 2005 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

88 teachers and educators provide education for the students, and the students participate in study groups and various types of sports.

Under the auspices of the foundation, the students have participated and gained success in sports and scientific competitions held in various countries of the world.

Aliyeva also visited the Special Boarding School No.7 in the Saray settlement of the Absheron district afterwards.

Major reconstruction work was carried out in the school in 2010 with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and the opening ceremony was attended by Foundation's President Mehriban Aliyeva.

The boarding school complex includes an administrative building, a four-storey dormitory, a sports building, a canteen, a kitchen, a laundry house, and other facilities.

After the reconstruction, the boarding school was equipped with an up-to-date inventory and equipment, and all conditions were created for children's normal residence.

Mentally disabled boys and girls from ages 4-18 years old are admitted to this establishment, which currently has 138 students. Individual sleeping quarters and playrooms are provided for each group.

Training is provided for children who need special care. A small bakery has been built in the courtyard of the boarding school to ensure that children are provided with quality bread and other floury products.
