A mobile mini-plant for the production of fertilizers obtained from the recycling of household and industrial waste has been established by scientists of the Institute of Chemical Problems of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, ANAS said on September 24.

The new technology allows producing fertilizers from household waste while adding mineral compounds. Researches in this area have been carried out under the supervision of the Institute's employee, PhD Mirali Alosmanov.

According to Alosmanov, the acquired fertilizers can be used for growing all types of plants.

The mini-plant was tested on a plant of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes of ANAS where the necessary results were achieved. The fertilizers were used at Guba Regional Scientific and Agricultural Center.

The use of produced fertilizers is supported by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Industry and Energy, Ministry of Economic Development and Tamiz Shahar JSC. A large number of such plants are to be produced and to be used in all regions.

The State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents and the Turkish Sakarya University granted the patent for this invention.

The Institute of Chemical Problems of Azerbaijan, which was established in 2002, is engaged in such activities as complex processing of mineral resources and the development of new efficient processes and facilities for the synthesis of monomers and organic compounds on the basis of local raw materials, study of the kinetics and mechanism of chemical reactions, as well as scientific substantiation of the electrochemical methods of protecting metals against corrosion.
