Azerbaijan awards Turkish Land Forces commander
Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Safar Abiyev met Commander of the Turkish Land Forces Hayri Kıvrıkoğlu on July 3, Azertag state news agency reported.
The sides explored prospects for boosting military cooperation between the two countries.
Abiyev presented "Services in the military cooperation sphere" and "The 95th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s Armed Forces" medals to Hayri Kıvrıkoglu for his contributions to strengthening and developing the military cooperation between the two countries.
Prior to the meeting, Kıvrıkoglu visited the Alley of Honors to lay flowers at the tomb of national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev. He also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
He visited the Alley of Martyrs to lay flowers at the graves of Azerbaijani heroes and at the Eternal Flame monument.
