PACE approved observation mission for presidential elections in Azerbaijan

Head and staff of the observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan have been elected, Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE Samad Seyidov said when commenting on the results of the PACE summer session.
Seyidov said that a monitoring mission consisting of 32 people and pre-election mission composed of seven people will be formed.
According to him, they will be officially declared by the PACE bureau soon.
"As a member of the Bureau, I am not allowed to announce any names, but this issue was solved at the bureau meeting. In connection with this all political groups have put forward their own candidates. Today at the bureau they have submitted their nominations, as well as the nomination of the Head of Mission was discussed. According to the procedure rules, the pre-election observation mission will arrive in Azerbaijan the month before the election, and the mission that will observe the elections will be in Azerbaijan during the whole period of elections," Seyidov said.
The presidential elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for the autumn 2013.
