Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan discuss emergency response co-op
Azerbaijan's ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hidayet Orujov has met the country`s Minister for Emergency Situations Kubatbek Boronov.
Orujov said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is keen on
cementing Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan relations, and the embassy takes
every opportunity to realize the President`s instructions. The
ambassador pointed out that there is enormous potential for
cultivating cooperation in trade, information and communication
technologies, transport, science, and education.
Minister Boronov hailed the fact that the Ministry of Emergency
Situations of Azerbaijan is provided with modern equipment and
highly-qualified personnel. According to him, the cooperation
between the emergency ministries is expanding.
Boronov pointed out that the agreement on cooperation on civil
defense and disaster response was signed during Kyrgyz President
Almazbek Atambayev`s visit to Azerbaijan in March 2012. The
agreement is based on a draft plan for cooperation for 2013-2016
between the two countries' ministries.
