Ankara hosts event over Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and Heydar Aliyev's anniversaries
Azerbaijan`s embassy in the Turkish capital of Ankara has organized a reception and a solemn event marking the 95th anniversary of the establishment of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the 90th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Held in the Heydar Aliyev park, the event was attended by head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's social and political affairs department Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev, Turkey`s senior officials, including deputy chairman of the Grand National Assembly Mehmet Saglam, energy minister Taner Yıldız, interior minister Muammer Guler, and head of the Turkey-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Necdet Unuvar, as well as top-ranking Turkish military officers, art figures, scholars, heads and representatives of the diplomatic corps in Ankara, and journalists.
Speakers at the event, including Azerbaijani ambassador Faig Bagirov, the Presidential Administration official Ali Hasanov, Turkish ministers Taner Yıldız and Muammer Geler, highlighted the relations between the two countries, and praised national leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in ensuring Azerbaijan`s overall development.
The event featured performance of Farid Mammadov, Azerbaijan`s singer who ranked second at recent Eurovision song contest, as well as Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble.
