Azerbaijani ministry supports criminal liability for online insults
The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry supports the appeal to the Azerbaijani Parliament in connection with the enforcement of criminal liability for the insult of honour and dignity online, Azerbaijani Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov told media on May 17.
The minister said that many countries have similar legal statutes.
"The protection of the rights, honor and dignity of people online is very relevant today around the world and in Azerbaijan," he said. "Cases involving the insult of the honor and dignity of people that lead to disastrous consequences frequently occur on the internet."
