Over 20 foreigners violating migration rules expelled from Azerbaijan

Last week, the State Migration Service (SMS) identified 564 foreigners and stateless persons, who have violated the terms of their stay, as well as temporary and permanent residence in the country.
The service reported that as a result of inspections conducted on April 8-12 in Baku and other cities and regions of the country, cases of non-compliance with administrative legislation for a temporary stay and residence in Azerbaijan by 564 foreigners and those without citizenship were identified.
As many as 71 people were fined and their residences were legalised, 468 foreign nationals were ordered to leave Azerbaijan within 48 hours and 21 foreigners were expelled from the country by administrative orders. The documents of temporary and permanent residence lost by four foreigners were replaced with new ones.
Last week, the SMS received 1,670 applications for stay extensions in the country due to statelessness, the granting of permits for temporary and permanent residence, refugee status and restoration of citizenship and issuance of individual permits for work or renewal of employment in the country.
The SMS also recorded 9,746 complaints related to the registration of places of residence last week.
In addition, the officers conducted inspections of five business facilities, resulting in the detection of violation by three enterprises of rules for obtaining individual permits for work in Azerbaijan.
