Azerbaijani President receives Astrium CEO and Director of International Development at EADS
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received on Monday
President and CEO of Astrium company Francois Auque and Director of
International Development at European Aeronautic Defense and Space
company Jean-Pierre Talamoni, AzerTac state news agency
reported.
Attending the event, French ambassador to the country Pascal
Meunier hailed the launch of Azerbaijan`s communications satellite
as an historical event. The ambassador noted that the French
government would continue to support Azerbaijan in implementation
of space programmes.
Francois Auque said Astrium was one of the largest space
companies in Europe.
The Astrium President informed the Head of State about the
company`s projects.
President Ilham Aliyev described the launch of Azerbaijan`s first
communications satellite as a new stage of development of space
industry.
The Azerbaijani leader said France was one of the main partners of the country in a number of fields.
The Head of State expressed hope the cooperation in development of information and communication technologies and space technology would be continued.
