Baku hosts First World Forum of Graduates of Moscow State Institute of International Relations
The 1st World Forum of Graduates of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) has kicked off in Baku, AzerTac state news agency reported.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban
Aliyeva attended the event.
The forum, initiated by the Azerbaijan Association of MGIMO
Graduates, brings together more than 400 people, including
officials, representatives of leading international organizations,
businessmen and financiers from many countries such as Russia,
Ukraine, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Moldova, Poland,
Slovakia, Cuba, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Vietnam, as
well as Azerbaijani graduates living and working abroad.
President Ilham Aliyev delivered opening remarks at the forum held under the motto "Together towards future".
MGIMO rector, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anatoly Torkunov read out Russian President Vladimir Putin`s message to the forum participants.
Director of the Russian Cooperation Agency (Rossotrudnichestvo),
special presidential representative for CIS Affairs, member of the
Board of Trustees of MGIMO, Konstantin Kosachev read out a message
of greetings of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The forum then continued in sessions, with the agenda topped by the
issues of education, energy and environmental factors in global
economic development, as well as the role of civil institutes,
media community and business in settling international
problems.
