PM: Georgia considers Azerbaijan as its strategic partner

Georgia considers Azerbaijan as its strategic partner and the new government also adheres to this position, Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said at a meeting with editors of the Georgian media on Wednesday.

"Of course, Azerbaijan is our strategic partner," he said. "We intend to continue our joint projects and develop them with Turkey."

Ivanishvili said that transit and energy supplies have special interest. "Of course, we protect our interests. These projects are vital for us because we can achieve the reduction of tariffs in the energy sector."
