Armenia breaks ceasefire with Azerbaijan
Subunits of the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire in Farahli village of Gazakh region, Yusifjanli and Garagashli villages of Aghdam region, Kuropatkino village of Khojavand region, Ashagi Seyidahmadli and Garakhanbayli villages of Fuzuli region on March 4-5.
The enemy was silenced with a retail fire, the Defense Ministry said.
Azerbaijan and Armenia fought a brutal war in the early 1990s that concluded with the signing of a fragile cease-fire. Since the war, the Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions. Peace talks brokered by the Minsk Group have been mostly fruitless so far.
