Most citizens disgruntled with mediators - poll
Azerbaijan's ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) has conducted a
public opinion poll on the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group
brokering settlement to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Upper
(Nagorno) Garabagh.
Most of respondents - 63% - said the co-chairs of the group
representing the United States, Russia and France were failing to
fully capitalize on their potential to find a solution of the
long-standing dispute, while 30% voiced strong concerns over what
they termed as delays in the settlement process. Only 7% of those
polled said they were content with the Garabagh mediators'
efforts.
The poll revealed that the Azerbaijani authorities and the
overwhelming majority of the public - 93% - adhere to a common
stance on the work of the intermediaries. This factor shows that
Azerbaijan has bolstered its decisive position in the negotiating
process, the NAP said.
