Azerbaijan, Ukraine to sign five agreements
The next meeting of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation is planned to be held in Kiev in spring, Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko told media on Thursday.
"The various dates of holding the meeting of the intergovernmental commission are being negotiated," he said. "Perhaps the meeting will take place in April or May. We are discussing this issue with the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers and the Economic Development Ministry."
He added that five intergovernmental agreements are being prepared for signing this year. These are specific agreements in the field of education, science and technology, protection and plant quarantine and many others.
The legal framework between the two countries consists of 125 agreements, Mishchenko said.
"We are beginning to regulate the specifics of each industry, rather than industry in general," the ambassador said.
