Over 600 unexploded bombs and 2 antitank mines neutralized in December

About 3.383 million square meters of Azerbaijani territory was cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance in December, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Trend news agency on Wednesday.

As a result of operations, 618 unexploded ammunition and 2 antitank mines were found and neutralized.

Last year 32.819 million square meters of land was cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance and 11,364 unexploded ordnance was neutralized.

484 experts and 118 assistants, as well as the six mechanical demining machines and 36 mine-detection dogs participated in the operations.

So far the agency has cleared 214.291 million square meters of land, found and neutralized 676,170 mines and unexploded ordnance.

ANAMA operates in Agdam, Agstafa, Agjabadi, Fuzuli, Terter, Goygol, Gadabay, Shamkir, Goranboy, Guzdek settlement in the Garadag district of Baku and the territory of mud volcanoes Gildag in Absheron region.
