Arsons causing scalable environmental damage
The arsons committed by Armenians in the occupied villages of Azerbaijan's northwestern Aghdam district have caused 88,500 manats ($105,000) damage to the environment, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources said.
Armenians set ablaze over 70 hectares of land in three occupied villages of Aghdam last Wednesday.
It was determined during the investigation that the 77,000 manats damage was inflicted to the environment, while 7,700 manats - to topsoil and 3,794 manats to the atmosphere.
The issue on arsons will be raised at the summer session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA), an Azeri parliament member said.
Eldar Ibrahimov told reporters that the issue was raised at a recent meeting of the OSCE PA's committee for economy, science, technology and environment held in Kyiv, Ukraine. He said Armenians continued setting ablaze the occupied land, adding that the Azerbaijani delegation would bring Armenians' arbitrariness into the notice of the OSCE PA leadership and representatives of the group's member states.
