Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Monday inaugurated experimental-research factory of the Ministry of Defense Industry, AzerTac state news agency reported.
The president cut the ribbon symbolizing opening of the enterprise.
Then, the head of state put flowers at Heydar Aliyev's monument erected in the yard of the factory.
Azerbaijani Defense Industry Minister Yavar Jamalov reported that the enterprise would organize massive production of small arms and carry out scientific-research, experimental-engineering works, as well as prepare modern samples adequate to experimental methods, special standards and programs.
Reportedly, the factory has been functioning since 1990 as "Klimat" Construction Bureau of the Baku Aviation Production Unit, but was not equipped with necessary equipment, technical means and personnel. After the Defense Industry Ministry was created, the said Construction Bureau also started to work anew.
The factory was completely reconstructed. New administrative building, modern, high-quality devices and assembly sites have been created here. Large-scale land-improvement works were carried out.
President Aliyev viewed the Heydar Aliyev Museum, the teaching and training rooms of engineering department.
Then, the head of state watched the production process, got acquainted with the samples of small arms and military technique.
The President steered the "Gurze" patrol car of special function.
The head of state expressed satisfaction with the conditions created in the factory, and gave certain recommendations.
