Azerbaijan`s President accepts credentials of incoming Portuguese ambassador
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted today
credentials of Portugal`s incoming ambassador Jorge Tito de
Vasconcelos Nogueira Dias, AzerTac state news agency reported.
During the talks the ambassador recalled a visit of Portugal`s
foreign minister to Azerbaijan in June this year. He added after
this visit the interest of Portuguese companies in Azerbaijan
increased.
The ambassador noted that Azerbaijan and Portugal are friendly
countries. He underlined the importance of active cooperation of
Azerbaijan and Portugal within international organizations. He
noted that good opportunities exist to develop bilateral
relationship. The diplomat vowed to spare no efforts to expand
these relations during his tenure.
President Aliyev said relations between Azerbaijan and Portugal
were developing successfully. The Head of State described bilateral
political relationship as good, adding that great potential exists
to speed up cooperation in economic and other spheres.
The Azerbaijani leader said the two countries had successful
cooperation within international organizations.
