Vienna hosts forum of Azeri students in Europe

The Vienna forum of Azerbaijani students educating in European countries was held on October 26-27, the state news agency AzerTac reported.

The reports on legal, humanitarian and other aspects of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict were heard at the first session organized on the second day of the forum.

Deputy permanent representative of Azerbaijan in UN, expert for international law Tofiq Musayev spoke about the legal aspects of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, provided information about the legal status of the Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, conflict settlement on the basis of international principles, the legal assessment of the conflict by international organizations, the fair position of Azerbaijan based on international law.

MP Rovshan Rzayev spoke about the creation and activity of the public organization 'Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan', the contribution that people's diplomacy may have in the resolution of the conflict and shared thoughts about the humanitarian aspects of the conflict.

Head of the Center for Strategic Studies at the President of Azerbaijan Farhad Mammadov shared information about the activity of the leading brain centers and the world researchers on the conflict, the projects implemented with participation of foreign experts, as well as the strategic directions to be taken into account after the conflict.

The coordinators of the campaign 'Justice for Khojaly' held on the initiative of the head coordinator of the Youth Forum of the Islamic Cooperation Organization Leyla Aliyeva, Nijat Mammadli and Sevinj Isgandarova voiced their opinions about the organization of the activity of the youth and students in informing the world community about Karabakh, directions in activity and made an interactive presentation on the campaign.

The session on the international community's opinion about the resolution of the conflict and the role of youth in strengthening Azerbaijan's positions was held in the second half of the day.

Head of the international center for defence studies, ambassador Matthew Bryza, editor-in-chief of the Turkish Policy Quarterly Nigar Geksel, executive director of the US Azeris Network (USAN) Adil Baguirov spoke on the main issues as the outlook of the conflict in the international world, existing stereotypes, double standards, organization of the diaspora activity, popularization of Azerbaijan abroad.
