Opposition party plans unsanctioned rallies
The opposition Musavat Party plans to hold unsanctioned rallies in June, the party's deputy chairman Arif Hajily said.
He said the protesters would demand solution of socio-economic problems as well as the conduct of free and fair elections in the country.
Musavat earlier appealed to the Mayor's Office of Baku to sanction the rallies it planned to hold on May 4 and May 18 but the latter said the protests could be held in the Bibiheybat settlement but not in the venues offered by the party. The party had refused to hold a rally in the Bibiheybat settlement.
