Karabakh Azeri community issues protest to European youth group
The Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan has sent a statement of protest to President of the European Youth Forum (AEGEE - Association des Etats Generaux des Etudiants de l'Europe) Luis Alvarado in connection with the opening of an office of this group in the occupied territories of Nagorno-Karabakh region, News.Az website reported.
According to the Community, the statement authors remind the
Forum President Luis Alvarado that documents adopted by all
international organizations regarding the settlement of the
Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh recognize the territorial
integrity, independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
"International organizations, including the European Parliament
support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and consider
Nagorno-Karabakh within the Azerbaijani territory. The Azerbaijani
community of Nagorno-Karabakh region declares you and organizations
involved in the opening of the Nagorno-Karabakh office of AEGEE
that for over 20 years Armenia has been holding Nagorno-Karabakh
region and seven surrounding regions of Azerbaijan under
occupation," the statement says.
The statement noted that the aggression of Armenia against
Azerbaijan, occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding
districts contradict the norms and principles of international law.
"No state has recognized the secessionist entity called
"Nagorno-Karabakh Republic", and the opening of your organization's
office in this region is illegal. No event and projects you hold in
Nagorno-Karabakh can be held without the permission of the
Azerbaijani state and participation of the Azerbaijani community of
Nagorno-Karabakh, and it is contrary to international law."
