French envoy hopes for progress in Karabakh talks
French ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Meunier has said that
Paris believes that progress will be achieved in the negotiations
on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and a solution will be found,
according to the local press.
"Progress in Nagorno-Karabakh settlement depends on the political
will of the sides. We can assist it, but without political will of
both countries it will be impossible to find a solution," he
said.
The peaceful solution of the Karabakh conflict was the priority
issue discussed at the meeting between French and Azerbaijani
presidents in Paris on September 18, the ambassador said.
"We cannot say that France remains inactive in finding a solution
to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as the latest meeting between [the
mediating] OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and foreign ministers of
Azerbaijan and Armenia was held in Paris," Meunier stressed.
