Azerbaijan is interested in developing its relations with Indonesia and Singapore, the Azerbaijani ambassador to the two countries, Tamerlan Garayev, said Friday.

Garayev, who is participating at a meeting of Azerbaijani ambassadors in Baku, told Trend news agency that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will pay an official visit to Singapore on November 20-21 and Indonesia on November 22-23.

"Preparations for the visits as well as the work on the drafts of bilateral documents are underway. They will be signed during the visits," Garayev said.

He added that Azerbaijan's relations with these countries have recently improved and the upcoming visit will give a significant boost to their development.

"Currently, we are working on 17 draft agreements with Indonesia and over 10 with Singapore," he said. "Azerbaijan intends to make hefty investments in Indonesia."

Garayev said power engineering is the main area of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia.

"Azerbaijan ranks second, next to Saudi Arabia, among the countries where Indonesia buys oil," he said. "Azerbaijan expects to get $2 billion from oil sales to this country in 2012."
