Musavat says Popular Front Party's accusations 'hasty step'
Musavat considers the accusations of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, another major opposition party, regarding party chairman Isa Gambar's declaration of his intention to run for president next year as "a hasty step".
"The statement of Isa Gambar about his participation in the elections is normal. It expressed Gambar's desire to take part in the presidential election, and of course, all Musavat supporters treated this with respect. However, some of our friends and allies wrongly perceive this," chairman of Musavat Supreme Council Arzu Samadbayli told Trend news agency.
Each party has its own candidate in the presidential election, Samadbayli said.
"We also plan to participate in the 2013 presidential elections, and our candidate is, naturally, Isa Gambar, and he expressed his desire [to do so]," Samadbayli said.
He added that those who made the hasty step "also understand that they express their thoughts wrong".
