Iran supported Azerbaijani people in hard times, and Azerbaijanis should help Iran's earthquake victims today, Azerbaijani Consul General in Tabriz Ali Alizade said at a meeting with head of East Azerbaijan province Ahmad Beygi, FARS ageny reported Thursday.

An earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitude, which killed more than 300 people and injured about 2,500, occurred in Iranian province of East Azerbaijan on August 11.
