Railway company adds carriages to passenger trains over Ramadan
Azerbaijan Railways will add 20 carriages to trains of domestic passenger routes during the days of the upcoming Ramadan holiday, the CJSC said on Thursday.
This year the Ramadan holiday in Azerbaijan is celebrated on August 19-20, and because August 19 is Sunday, another day-off is added -- August 21.
During the holidays, Azerbaijan Railways will step up its work.
"Additional carriages are connected to domestic passenger routes during public holidays each year. It is necessary in order to cope with increased passenger traffic," Azerbaijan Railways said.
Last year, the company's total passenger traffic was 3.5 million people in the country, which has a population of over 9 million.
