Aliyev attends Iftar party
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday attended an Iftar party on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan hosted by the head of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazada at his residence.
The event started with the recitation of verses from the Quran.
The head of state addressed the event.
Pashazada, in his remarks, thanked the president for accepting his invitation to attend the Iftar party. He also thanked clerics for attending the event.
Other speakers, including head of the Baku and Caspian Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church, Father Alexander, muftis of the Karachay-Cherkess and Chechen Republics Ismayil Berdiev and Soltan Mirzayev praised Azerbaijan's contribution to strengthening Islamic unity and developing global interfaith dialogue.
