Protesters in Washington, Brussels to condemn Khojaly massacre
Representatives of the Azerbaijani community will hold a protest outside Armenia’s embassy in Washington on February 24 over the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre committed by Armenian armed forces.
Protesters will condemn the ongoing Armenian occupation of Azerbaijan’s Nagorno Karabakh region and demand justice to be served with regard to the victims of Armenian terror.
Police officials have authorized the protest. Organizers said that depending on compliance with relevant legal procedures and weather conditions, protesters may walk toward the White House building.
In Brussels, a rally marking the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide will be held on February 28, the Azerbaijan State Committee on Diaspora told Trend news agency on Tuesday.
The two-hour rally to be held under the slogans "All of us - Khojaly residents! All of us - Turks!" will be joined by representatives of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diaspora, political parties and public organizations in Brussels on Schuman Square in front of the European Commission.
The rally was initiated by the Azerbaijan-Belgium Friendship Society to draw public attention to the genocide committed against Azerbaijanis.
