Azerbaijan to buy Russian battle tanks: sources
Azerbaijan plans to purchase battle tanks from Russia, a military source told the Baku-based APA news agency.
The Azerbaijani defense ministry signed an agreement in 2011 with Russia’s state arms corporation Rosoboronexport on importing T-90S tanks, the report said, without citing details of the deal, the number of tanks and time of delivery.
Rosoboronexport is also said to have concluded an agreement to sell T-90 tanks to Turkmenistan.
T-90, Russian third-generation battle tanks, are manufactured by the Uralvagonzavod plant.
