Azerbaijan ranks 94th on charity
Azerbaijan ranked 94th among 153 countries on charity activities in 2011 in an annual rating of the UK-based Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
18 percent of the people in Azerbaijan contribute money to charity and 23 percent spend their time on charitable endeavors. 42 percent of the population help others, according to CAF’s findings.
The United States topped the rankings, which were drawn up based on Gallup polls conducted in countries worldwide.
CAF’s charity index assesses countries on such criteria as the percentage of the population making donations, the time people spend on charity initiatives and how much assistance they provide to others.
