Azeri security minister meets Georgian counterpart
Azerbaijan`s Minister of National Security, lieutenant-general Eldar Mahmudov on Thursday met the Georgian delegation led by head of the Intelligence Service Gela Bezhuashvili.
Mahmudov said this visit would contribute to developing cooperation between the two countries` relevant bodies.
The Azeri minister briefed Gela Bezhuashvili on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
They discussed processes in the region, fight against terrorism, extremism, illegal immigration, as well as measures to ensure security of regional and international energy projects. They underlined the close cooperation of the two countries` relevant bodies in this direction.
They also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between relevant bodies of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Bezhuashvili said Georgia would further attach importance to cooperation with special service bodies of Azerbaijan to ensure regional security.
