Azerbaijan not to allow imposing democracy and creeds: presidential aide
Azerbaijan will never allow imposing democracy and creeds from abroad, a presidential aide has said, following recent strongly worded statements by senior Iranian clerics and anti-Azerbaijani media reports in Iran.
Ali Hasanov, the Presidential Administration official in charge of social and political affairs, made the statement during a visit to Iran in a meeting with the chairman of Iranian National Radio and Television Company Izzatullah Zargami, Azerbaijan’s state news agency AzerTAj reported.
Hasanov called for an end to anti-Azerbaijani campaigns pursued by the Iranian media. He said the history of Azerbaijan and Iran "requires them to live in the conditions of good neighborliness and sincere friendship".
