Azerbaijan launches its first online encyclopedia
A first-ever online encyclopedia of Azerbaijan was launched Friday on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the former Soviet republic’s independence.
The azerbaijans.com website is available not only in Azerbaijani but also in six other languages – Russian, English, Turkish, French, Spanish and German, according to the National Academy of Sciences.
The encyclopedia provides comprehensive information about the Azerbaijani flag, anthem and constitution as well as government agencies. It also covers the country’s language, history, politics, economics, diaspora, science, healthcare, and local lore.
The website contains information about Azerbaijani regions favorable for tourism, resorts and hotels, which will benefit tourists seeking to learn about and visit Azerbaijan.
