OSCE envoy concerned over situation on Azeri-Armenian frontline

OSCE chairperson’s personal envoy Andrzej Kasprzyk has said he was dissatisfied with the situation on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.

Speaking during a regular OSCE frontline monitoring in Azerbaijan’s Goranboy region on Thursday, Kasprzyk said: "My conclusion is that the situation is stable, but I am not satisfied with it, as the ceasefire is being violated and there are casualties. True, the number of casualties has lately decreased, and essentially, no serious [ceasefire] breaches are taking place."

The OSCE has been mediating peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia through its Minsk Group since the two countries signed a cease-fire in 1994 following a lengthy war. Clashes on the frontline continue.
