Azeri FM meets EU special envoy
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on Thursday met a delegation headed by the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Philippe Lefort.
Lefort congratulated the Azerbaijani side with its election to the UN Security Council for 2012 - 2013 and wished success. Lefort said that this is great success for such a young country like Azerbaijan, the Foreign Ministry said.
Lefort also stressed opportunities for cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan.
Expressing gratitude for the congratulations, minister expressed confidence that Azerbaijan will effectively and actively participate in resolving global and regional issues.
The Minister stressed that Azerbaijan gives special attention to cooperation with international organizations. He expressed assurance that Azerbaijan would contribute to development of multiculturalism in the world.
On Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mammadyarov underlined that settlement of this conflict is the main foreign policy priority of Azerbaijan.
