Azeri FM hosts German Marshal Fund reps
Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov met Monday with a high-level delegation of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) in Baku.
The meeting focused on the role of Azerbaijan in the region, steps towards the integration into European institutions, cooperation with NATO and the European Union, economic reforms in Azerbaijan, major energy projects implemented in the region and other issues.
Mammadyarov also dwelled on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and ongoing negotiations towards its peaceful resolution.
The German Marshall Fund is a nonpartisan American public policy and grant making institution dedicated to promoting greater cooperation and understanding between North America and Europe.
GMF does this by supporting individuals and institutions working on transatlantic issues, by convening leaders to discuss the most pressing transatlantic themes, and by examining ways in which transatlantic cooperation can address a variety of global policy challenges. In addition, GMF supports a number of initiatives to strengthen democracies.
